WATIGA was founded by Matt Richards. Matt is a qualified lawyer, admitted to practice in Australia, England, New York and Singapore. Matt has practiced in the leading American law firms of Latham & Watkins, Sidley Austin and Baker & McKenzie. Prior to founding WATIGA, Matt was the general counsel and an equity partner with a top-tier Indonesian-focused private equity fund manager.  Proficient in Bahasa Indonesia, Matt commutes regularly from Singapore to Indonesia and within the region. 


Matt holds the Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours), Bachelor of Asian Studies (First Class Honours) and Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from The Australian National University. Matt is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, holds the Executive Diploma in Directorship from the Singapore Management University / Singapore Institute of Directors, and is a Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators. 



Lam Pak Nian is a qualified lawyer, admitted to practice in Singapore. Pak has helmed many positions within the fund and legal industries, with both private practice and in-house counsel experience. Before joining WATIGA, Pak was lead in-house counsel with a multinational national IT company, managing the Singapore legal and compliance functions. Pak has also practiced in the litigation, corporate commercial, and private client practice areas in a Singapore law firm.
